Hon'ble Justice Vijender Jain( Retd) , a luminary in the legal field and a passionate advocate for the mediation movement in India. Justice Jain’s unwavering support for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) has been instrumental in shaping the landscape of mediation in the country, particularly in his tenure as Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, where he played a key role in promoting the court-annexed mediation system.
Justice Jain’s contributions went beyond Delhi as he successfully carried forward this initiative to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, where he set up court-annexed mediation and gave mediators from Samadhan the first opportunity to train the inaugural batch of mediators. This visionary step continues to benefit countless litigants by offering alternative avenues for resolving disputes amicably.
Over the years, Justice Jain has received several international awards for fostering friendships between India and other nations. His profound knowledge and expertise also made him a valuable contributor to many international symposia and seminars on Human Rights, ADR, and International Law, where he represented India with distinction. Notably, he was invited by the Thai Supreme Court to share India’s experiences in Environmental Laws and assist in setting up Green Benches in Thailand.

He has also contributed significantly to Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in India, particularly in areas such as environmental conservation, unauthorized constructions in Delhi, and the cleaning of the River Yamuna.
